Travel and Accommodation
You may prefer to make your own travel arrangements. However, the Festival organisers will be delighted to assist you with your travel requirements from your chosen ferry port or airport of departure. From the South and South West of England, Condor Express offers an affordable fast ferry sealink with the Island (4hrs) with daily sailings from Poole or Weymouth. From France there are daily sailings from St Malo in Brittany. There are regular scheduled flights from London Gatwick and London Luton with further direct flights from many other provincial airports in the UK. However, group space can be limited on any flight and therefore early booking is essential. Hotels in Jersey range from economy class to superior tourist class. We will discuss your hotel requirements with you. You will generally be accommodated at a hotel in St Helier so that you are within walking distance of the shops, restaurants and certain tourist attractions. a : travel costs by sea fast ferry from poole/weymouth : £70 per adult, £50 per child fast ferry from st malo : £35 per adult

The airfare rates are very much to be used as a guide and will depend on the number of people and availability of these fares at the time of booking. As always, early booking is essential. Please contact us to discuss your requirements and options at the earliest stage.
b : hotel costs prices in 2008 were from £28 per person per night for a standard hotel. single rooms are limited and supplements may apply. extra nights are available. all rooms are with private facilities. your hotel costs will include breakfast daily and an evening meal on the thursday and friday of the festival.
c : festival costs you will be requested to pay £35 PER YOUTH and £45 per ADULT. This cost will include the following: 1) Welcome reception on Thursday evening; 2) buffet supper on saturday evening after the choir of choirs competition; 3) entry fee for the festival including the competitions AND concerts; 4) support and assistance of event representatives and choir guides; 5) organisational and administrative costs in preparation of choir itineraries, travel details, site visits etc;
d : coach costs return transfers from the harbour or airport to your hotel will be £7 per person. transfers to festival events will be £110 per return journey per coach. coaches have 43 seats and your choir will have its own dedicated coach. if your group is 43+, you will need to use two coaches. small groups may wish to consider bringing their own minibus to jersey. you may wish to take an optional coach tour during your stay. in 2008 a half day tour WAS £6 per person.
Insurance Adequate travel insurance will be required as a condition of entry. Choirs will be required to provide proof of cover. Inspection visits Choir Directors and Travel Secretaries wishing to visit Jersey before the Festival to see the Festival venues, hotels etc. are asked to contact the organisers to agree a mutually convenient date. A minimal charge will be made, and should the choir participate in the Festival, this amount will be deducted from the final invoice.
